Taxes included.

Expect: Red Berries, Praline, Port

Process: Natural

Perfect for: When you're curious about natural coffees and want a really good place to start.

Best suited for: Filter or espresso. Great black, and rich enough to work beautifully with milk.

This coffee is part of our Explore Range: vibrant coffees with unique flavour profiles.

If someone asked us where to start with natural coffee, we'd probably hand them this.

Sweet red berries, praline and warming port notes come together in a rich, velvety cup. There’s plenty going on, but nothing feels pushed too far. It's the kind of coffee that gives you something new to discover without making you work for it.

"Our relationship with Finca La Bolsa spans longer than the 9 years I've worked here and it's tasting as bold and beautiful as ever! Expect sticky dried fruit, hints of red berries and a splash of booze on the finish. This lot works perfectly on metal filter brewing methods, accentuating the coffees richness and creamy mouthfeel. Grab this if you're after a full-bodied ,fruit forward shot of espresso."

How Does The Coffee Perform In The Cup?

The aroma is full of dark chocolate, dried cranberry and roasted almonds.

In the cup, sweet red berries lead into praline sweetness and a velvety, coating body. Candied nuts and warming port notes linger through the finish, giving the coffee richness without making it feel heavy.

Why did we choose this coffee?

We chose this coffee because La Bolsa is one of those places that keeps giving us reasons to come back.

The natural lot has all the richness, fruit and depth we want from an Explore coffee, but it still feels beautifully balanced and easy to enjoy. Just as importantly, we know the people behind it. After almost a decade of working together and visiting the farm, we’ve seen first-hand how seriously the Vides family take quality, education, healthcare and the environment around them.

That combination of great coffee and genuine long-term care is exactly why La Bolsa continues to earn its place on our offer list.

Who produced this coffee?

The Vides family have been producing coffee at Finca La Bolsa since 1958, with the third generation now continuing that work. Nestled between two mountains in Huehuetenango, the farm has become far more than a place where coffee is grown.

Education, healthcare and environmental care are built into the way La Bolsa operates. The farm supports an on-site school, provides healthcare for workers and families, and uses a closed-loop water treatment system that recirculates water and returns treated organic material back to the fields.

We've worked with Vides 58 since 2016, and every visit reinforces why we keep coming back: great coffee, thoughtful farming and real investment in the people and place behind it.

Packaging

Are your coffee bags compostable?

Our 250g coffee bags are made using compostable materials designed to break down in a well-managed home compost setup.

Our 1kg bags are currently recyclable LDPE4 plastic while we continue testing larger compostable alternatives durable enough for wholesale and larger-format coffee storage.

What if I don’t have a compost bin?

You’re definitely not alone. You can return your used bags to either our Roastery or Coffee Shop and we’ll make sure they’re properly processed through our waste partners. We know there’s currently no perfect packaging solution, but we’re committed to continually improving the systems and materials we use.

Can the bags be re-used?

Definitely. The zip-lock seals make them useful for storing everything from coffee and grains to snacks, cables or the random drawer bits everyone seems to accumulate somehow.
