When we finally had the opportunity to send Marcelo Montanari’s coffee through the gentle CO₂ process, everything clicked. It allowed us to preserve the sweetness, balance and character we’d loved since 2014 whilst opening the door for more people to enjoy it, whether they’re cutting back on caffeine or simply looking for another great coffee to choose from.

That’s what the Love Decaf Club has always been about. Not convincing people to drink decaf, but making sure anyone who does feels just as excited, included and well looked after as everyone else.

We’ve proudly worked with Marcelo Montanari since 2014, making him one of North Star’s longest-standing producer partners. His farms in Minas Gerais combine exceptional coffee with pioneering environmental practices, including carbon-neutral production, solar energy and biodiversity initiatives.
Once harvested, a portion of Marcelo’s coffee is sent to Germany where the organically certified CO₂ process gently removes the caffeine whilst preserving the flavour and aroma we’ve loved for more than a decade. It’s the closest we’ve ever come to enjoying Marcelo’s coffee exactly as it was intended — just with a little less buzz.
