Home Barista Course

This is a three hour practical course aimed at the home barista or coffee enthusiasts wishing to learn more about how to create great espresso and milk-based drinks from their own kitchen. This session requires no previous experience at all, it is also adaptable to meet the specific needs of the student and ensure the content covered is relevant to your own equipment.

During the course we will explore the principles of brewing coffee first, taking into account the impact of coffee origin/processing/water quality/filtration method in addition to all important barista skills. We will then introduce the theory behind espresso brewing including the adjustment and calibration of the grinder before covering off milk steaming technique and the foundations of latte art technique. Each attendee will receive tailored feedback and guidance regarding their practical skills, and we will also detail the ways each person can get the best from their exact set-up!

There will be plenty of time allocated for you to jump on one of our machines and have a go yourself and make use of your time with John, our barista trainer. You’ll also receive a whole load of resources following the course to put your new skills to the test.

When you book your place, you don’t need to do anything more – we will be in touch the week before your course is due to take place to confirm all the details. The course will take place right in the heart of our roastery at our headquarters in Armley (LS12 3BG).
