Wilfa Smart Coffee Grinder

We have been on the hunt for a great value electric grinder for filter brewing at home for months. Finally we are confident that one can do the job for home brewers of any skill level, making quality brewing accessible for under £100 excluding VAT. This brewer, which comes in at £135.00 with VAT performs brilliantly at the low levels of overall output that you find in most homes or light commercial environments. In fact, it does so well that it has been approved by the European Brewing Centre on all aspects of key performance that a grinder would be evaluated on: grind distribution, adjustability, retention, heat generation and too its suitability for cupping and brewing in what are deemed to be a wide range of brewing environments.


Please note, this is not an espresso grinder. Those would require a different specification of build and engineering, to produce finer particles at a relatively tight grind distribution, without also slowing the typical espresso workflow down. This is though one excellent grinder for a wide range of brew methods such as: turkish coffee pots (ibriks); stovetop coffee makers (moka pots); cafetieres (French Presses); pour-over brewers (V60s, Clever Drippers, Chemex brewers, Kalitas), and even siphon or cloth filter brewers. This is not even an exhaustive list.


The grinder is easy to adjust, easy to clean and even comes with a timer switch for convenient dosing and 'dialling in' for filter coffee brewing. Another huge positive is that the motor runs at a slow speed relative to the grind chamber's size. This means grinding doesn't produce excessive amounts of heat, which would typically cause detriment to your recipe's performance.

If you place your order before 12pm, we'll dispatch it the same working day! All orders are shipped with DPD next working day delivery as standard. Fully tracked delivery, with a one hour delivery window and real time delivery updates.

DPD offers the ability to change delivery address and date, opt for delivery to a neighbour or safe place, or redirect to a DPD Pickup shop, all while it's on the way to you! DPD aim to be the UK's most sustainable delivery company.

Operating times are 9am-5pm Mon-Friday. Orders placed after 12pm on Friday will not be processed until 9am Monday morning.

Local pickups take place from the Roastery on Tong Road. Please note our shutter doors will be down for security and temperature reasons but we are always in Monday-Friday between 9 and 5pm – just ring the doorbell on arrival
