Fall in to autumn with this cozy seasonal treat. A classic milky latte with homemade pumpkin spice, sweet panela and a dusting of cinnamon.
Ingredients:
- 1 Cup Caster Sugar
- 1⁄2 Cup Panela/Brown Sugar
- 1 1⁄2 Cups Water
- 4 Cinnamon Sticks
- 1 tsp Ground Cloves
- 1 tsp Ground Ginger
- 2 tsp Ground Nutmeg
- 4 tbsp Pumpkin Puree
(Makes approximately 500ml, lasts 1 month refrigerated)
Instructions:
In a saucepan, combine the caster sugar and water. Heat and stir until the sugar has completely dissolved.
Add the rest of the ingredients: brown sugar, cinnamon sticks, ground cloves, ground ginger, ground nutmeg, and pumpkin puree.
Simmer the mixture for 10 minutes over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
After simmering, remove the saucepan from the heat.
Strain the syrup through a fine-mesh sieve or strainer immediately to remove any solids, allowing the liquid to fully drip through.
Transfer the strained syrup to a clean container.
Store the Pumpkin Spice Syrup in the refrigerator. It should last for about 1 month when refrigerated.
Homemade PS* Latte
- 1 shot (30ml) of Espresso or Strong Coffee
- 1 cup of Steamed Milk or Milk Alternative
- 20ml (or to taste) of Homemade PS* Syrup
- Ground Cinnamon or Nutmeg for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
Brew a shot of espresso or a cup of coffee using your preferred method.
While the coffee is brewing, heat and froth your milk.
In a mug, add the 20ml of your homemade Pumpkin Spice Syrup.
Pour the coffee into the mug with the syrup. Stir well to combine the syrup with the coffee.
Carefully add your milk
Sprinkle a pinch of ground cinnamon or nutmeg on top
